Our special interest: the Common Good
ABOUT US

Welcome to the home page of the Hendricks County Democratic Party.

Our membership is open to all in the county without regard to race, religion, ethnic origin, age, or social-economic status.

We feel compelled to ensure that all people are properly represented throughout the legislative process and seek to work diligently with other political representatives to ensure Hendricks County continues to prosper as an ideal community.

By doing so we will continue to impact our towns, our county, our state, and this nation in a manner that reflects all of its citizens. By working for the common good of all people, including those with little to no voice in government, we will meet our responsibility as an active, progressive political force in Hendricks County.

Feel free to contact any of our officers or members and join us at any of our open meetings as indicated throughout our website. As we grow in number, your ability to serve those in our community that need it most will be greatly appreciated.

In Memoriam

Michael R. Herring

Oct. 22, 1964 - Aug. 10, 2008

Hendricks County Democrats had the good fortune this year to enlist Michael Herring, a thoughtful man with contagious optimism and energy, to serve as Secretary for the organization.

His interest in social values and citizen responsibility was strongly and consistently evidenced. He was good at creating dialog - both listening well and conveying ideas  in a respectful, personable, clear and positive style that made him a pleasure to be with

and work with.  He brought dedication, careful consideration, reliability and collaboration to the leadership team, and he is already very missed.

Michael, a Senior Manager of Operations for Fed Ex, lived in Avon with his wife  Vanessa and their sons, Nick and Marvis. They are a family with lots of reason to be proud of each other, and they clearly are lovingly connected -- which right now heightens their loss. They remain in our hearts and in our thoughts.

We are most grateful for the gift of Michael -- his time, talents, service and friendship.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking

that donations be made to

the Michael R. Herring Scholarship Fund

 c/o Huntington Bank.
